I love the Ouai Detox Shampoo! Routine hair detox is essential to keep your hair bouncy and healthy. No matter how expensive your hair products are, it would be best if you did a hair detox to remove product buildup. Too many people cut off “dry” hair when all it is is hair product buildup. Most products coat our hair; over time, this buildup dries out your hair. Dry hair will lead to hair breakage.
Trying a bad detox shampoo can leave you with terrible hair days. I have tested many hair detox shampoos to help give you options. So far, I have four that I love. I think these four are enough for a recommendation. I will try more on request only. 🙂
The Ouai Detox Shampoo leaves my hair so clean and removes hair buildup. One thing to note is it may take a second wash day for you to have the softest hair since the shampoo strips you of the good (natural oils and hair oils) and bad, leaving you with a clean slate. A more gentle detox shampoo may be best if you have thin hair. If you don’t mind taking extra time, an apple cider vinegar rinse is an even more affordable, gentle, and fantastic way to detox your hair. I go the shampoo route because of the smell and the extra time it takes to mix the ACV.
How I Use It
I use the Ouai Detox Shampoo to wash my hair brushes and detox my hair biweekly. I do my best to track the weeks I do a hair detox. I need to hurry on my handbook with a hair dairy entry to track everything. I fill the sink with lukewarm water for the hair brushes and add the detox shampoo. I leave the hair brushes in the water for a few minutes, then rinse them and lay them out to dry.
I recommend washing your hair brushes the day you do a hair detox. Dirty hair brushes will brush old product right back to your clean hair and can cause faster oily hair.
After I shampoo my hair with any detox shampoo, I always use a hair mask. This gives you the softest hair ever!
