Update: This is a difficult update to write. I am grateful that my daughter and I are okay. We were rear-ended at a stoplight, and the Tesla was totaled in May 2022. The window film kept the entire roof from collapsing on my daughter. If you were on the fence about spending the extra money, DO it. For more on the car accident and photos, read this post.

One thing I wish I had known sooner as a new parent…the importance of a ceramic car window tint with IR blockage versus a traditional film that only blocks UV. You have to read below for a detailed explanation of this. Hannah no longer cries in the car seat because she’s too hot. I learned so much thanks to TintWorld Miramar. When I visited TintWorld Miramar the owner, Jay, showed me his display of different window coats against a light bulb that represented the heat from the sun. I could compare the heat level differences with those different tints based on the amounts of ceramic coats. Just having dark windows doesn’t mean equal sun/heat protection.

Here is an explanation directly from Jay:

“Traditional film will give you privacy and UV blockage. Almost all window films block out 99% of the harmful UV rays because UV can’t go through plastic. The second energy from the sun is visible light. The darker the film you put, the more light it blocks out. Your sunglasses usually have a VLT(visible light transmission) of 15-25%, which means it blocks out 75-85% of lights. The third energy from the sun is infrared(IR) heat. IR warmed the earth. It radiates through the car windows and heats the interior of the car. This is where Ceramic film comes in. Unlike traditional film, ceramic film uses Nanotechnology to block out the IR spectrum of the sun. The more Nanotechnology you put into the film, the more IR it will block out.”

I wish I had known this earlier because it was stressful driving with the baby crying. Hannah would cry because she would get too hot in the car.

It’s been a few weeks since we had the Tesla tint upgrade. We’re LOVING it!!!

Now that we have the NanoFlex 3 coat ceramic tint from TintWorld Miramar, the car stays A LOT cooler. I had blamed the car seat brand for the overheating problem. I posted about the car seat overheating problem on Instagram, looking for advice. No one brought up the benefits of having ceramic window tint. Hannah no longer gets rosy red cheeks and is happy to adventure with mommy in the Tesla. To parents and new parents, I urge you to learn about the window film in your car to keep your little ones safe.

TintWorld Miramar took great care of us. I highly recommend them for the best tint you can find for your family.

I hope you find this helpful!
