I’ve always been a daydreamer. Growing up I’d always end up in trouble at the grocery store because I would start daydreaming instead of helping my dad with the catering truck supplies. If I wasn’t daydreaming I was buried in a book. I still enjoy a good fiction book—think The Chemist and The Wife Between Us type. I’m a Pisces, we are dreamers with a strong imagination. I love making my ideas come to life. Even if that means getting out of my comfort zone to get it done (I learned to use the table saw and nail gun).

I created a home office space inexpensively with minor DIY, a new $140 Target rug, a $300 Costco desk, recycled dining chairs, and a $30 basket. For desk savings, you can find nice gently used furniture on OfferUp.

I change things up ALOT. Our new home office was a spare bedroom that became a home gym. Then the treadmill found a home in the (oversized) master bedroom and the room became a guest bedroom. We realized we needed a room where we can work quietly. We can always eventually add a pull-out sofa for guests.

We started with bare blue walls. I added the boho indoor/outdoor rug from Target. I like for every room to have a different vibe. It also makes content creating more fun! The house is not all strictly farmhouse. My husband found the desk at Costco for around $300. I normally prefer OfferUp because I change things up cheaper this way.

I headed out to our local home improvement store this Saturday for window trim and molding for the accent wall. I didn’t record the process because I had limited time! My mom takes care of Hannah twice per week. I dedicate these days to create content. My mother-in-law had Hannah this Saturday so I rushed to frame the window and complete the accent wall. I barely paused to make coffee and to eat. My husband made me a protein shake knowing I probably would have skipped meals until I was done.

How do I get it done? It takes a village. I was so exhausted by the end of the day that I threw on a shirt backward to take the dogs out for a walk. I had paint on my hair bun, caulking on my hands, and Hannah was wearing a dirty mix match outfit. Instagram only sees the staged parts unless you watch my stories!

Here are a few pictures of the process and Before and After. I hope you like it and subscribe for updates! 🙂
