I get asked about my daughter’s haircare so much! I naturally have thick wavy hair, and I’m learning to better care for my daughter’s fine hair. Be gentle with your baby’s hair. I avoid heat and overuse of hair products. I also avoid tight hairstyles. I occasionally used elastics and put her hair half up in pigtails. I found some damage-free hair ties small enough to use for pigtails, even though she doesn’t have a lot of hair. I also don’t use the same hairstyle every day if it’s an updo to prevent friction/wear in the same place.

A few moms have messaged me they have a hard time styling their daughter’s fine hair, but they’re looking for styles that aren’t for fine/thin hair. It’s all about embracing their texture and hair type. I thinned out my hair for years because I wanted Jennifer Aniston’s famous flat face-framing layers. I learned to embrace my thick hair!

I mostly leave my daughter’s hair comfortably loose and use bows to her sides to hold her hair out of her face. I wash her hair every day with the Honest Refresh Shampoo & Body Wash. It’s gentle and doesn’t dry her hair. After her shower, I dry her hair with a microfiber towel and lightly spray the Raw Sugar Kids Strawberry & Oat Detangler. I sometimes use the Dyson on a cool setting. Look at the hair products listed in the story to see which products I use. 🙂
