We closed on the house when I was 7 months along. We worked on many house projects since we received the house keys. We knew there’d be little time once Hannah came. Then the pandemic lockdown happened as I was told I’d need to be induced due to growth restriction. The house was a disaster, we had a valve burst in the master bathroom and needed drywall work in the family room. Hannah’s nursery was delayed.
We initially wanted to add peony wallpaper to Hannah’s accent wall. I searched online and read hundreds of reviews on wallpaper. Between a kitchen remodel, new flooring, and painting the new house we were exhausted new parents. We decided to save time and money and do an easy DIY geometric wall.
It’s easy to complete a geometric wall with painters tape. You add random tape lines that connect.
I used thicker tape to get a more visible line. I tried not repeating similar lines and played around with the tape until I reached something I liked. We used Behr Marquee one coat paint. All you need is a paint roller and plastic tray.
I like bigger shapes and did less lines than most of the DIY geometric wall art I found online.
The rug and the dresser arrived. I was inspired by the rug for the wall color and curtains. We wanted bright colors because we’ve read it helps stimulate babies.
The crib was assembled and the room was starting to look more complete.
The teepee couldn’t stay as it kept getting in the way of the bathroom door.
We added a grass wall to complete the look. I’ll add a new blog post for that. The grass wall still needs to be stapled down better and the door needs a new coat of white.

I have a baby girl on the way. We love this might try to have some fun in oir nursery before she is born. Was the Behr paint ok? I heard that lullaby paint is good since it is VOC free but it is really expensive and breaks our budget.
